Well it happened...Lora Kate said her first cuss word. Sunday Lora Kate and I had been at Mom's helping her get ready for my G-ma's 90th birthday party at our farm. We came in Sunday and I knocked a soda off one of my inn tables. It went all over my hardwood floors, at which point I proceeded to say, "SHIT!" AT which point my daughter proceeds to go, "SHT." I was so startled I just looked at her and said, "Mommy shouldn't have said that and neither should you bec/ it's not a nice word. Let's not say that again." Around 3 that afternoon she hands Jason a book to read to her and he drops it. Lora Kate goes, "Sht" again. We both looked at each other and I'm thinking oh my here we go.... So needless to say I'm REALLY REALLY going to have to start watching my mouth around her and being more careful.
It seems all of my friends are having babies in the next 5-6 weeks. I have around 8 girlfriends expecting in the coming weeks. I actually had to sit down and write down all their names, with the babies names bec/ I kept forgetting which was which and who went with who. All but one are having girls! Exciting!!
What a beautiful weekend!!! Friday night was the first downtown Monroe summer concert series event and Kinchafoonee played. Some of you may remember them from college. It was so much fun. We really had a blast!!! Saturday Jason and I took Lora Kate to a birthday party at Chucky Cheese and she enjoyed it. She wanted to ride a little bus car over and over again. I, on the other hand, was a little hung over and was ready to leave as soon as we walked in.
Saturday night Jason and I stayed at home and Lora Kate was pretty tired. She had a small piece of birthday cake at the party and that stuff WIRED her for hours. Jason and I laughed at her all night. She was absolutely hilarious and was doing the funniest things. We spent most of the evening outside. I've really noticed over the last week a few little eczema patches starting to reappear. I hate to see it coming but I know with all the sun and water we are facing in the coming months the eczema will be arriving soon...just gotta keep it moisturized and hope for the best.
We watched 'Seven Pounds' which was very wierd but it was okay. Not a movie I'd watch again but I'd wanted to see it and since I don't have much time to watch movies it was worthwhile. Sunday was my G-ma's 90th birthday. She looks great and definitely doesn't look or act 90. We had the party at our farm and we had a good crowd. Many of the 20s-30s crowd stood around talking about how we doubt any of us will ever see 90...it's an interesting thought but I'm a firm believer in how much is tied to genetics. However, there are many other factors involved as well...
