Lora Kate is cutting the lovely 2 year molars. Last week she was really fussy and I just couldn't figure out what was going on. She's been drooling and keeping her fingers in her mouth (more than usual). So I thought maybe it was the teeth but I wasn't completely convinced. I'm now convinced. Mom kept Lora Kate Friday night and she slept pretty good. Saturday when I picked her up I stopped and got Tylenol, teething tablets and Oral B Q-tips. It was 10 seconds after administering ALL of this that her complete attitude changed. She was like a different child. It was great. She was in a really good mood. We went to Matt and Lindsey's and cooked out and just enjoyed seeing everyone. It was a good time with good friends and Collin is just growing up so much. He looks more like Linz and hes so adorable. Made me miss the baby stage (well, a little). Does anyone ever miss the Toddler stage? I'm thinking probably not...
On Sunday we got up and headed out for Helen. We drove up and got there around 12 and stayed all day. It was overcast and off and on rainy but we had so much fun. Jason's parents were there with family friends, as well as his 2 brothers and their children. We really had a great time and Lora Kate was exhausted by the end but she stayed awake all the way home but went right to sleep when we got home around 9:30. I was hoping she'd sleep late but it didn't happen.
It was such a nice feeling on Sunday to know I didn't have to go in on Monday. Just made my entire week! Monday we laid around and relaxed and Jason and I went to see X-Men: Wolverine. NOT my kind of movie and I was less than thrilled but I let him pick this time and next time I get to pick. I was pleasantly surprised though and I really enjoyed the movie. It was a really good movie!!
Tuesday was back to the grindstone. Lora Kate did NOT want to go to school on Tuesday. I was less than thrilled to be back in the office and the day didn't exactly go as planned. So of course everyone knows that as a nurse I come across a lot of sharp objects. I was teaching a patient and after he had used a needle I accidentally poked myself with it. I've never done this before. So I had to go to my manager and find out what steps to take. It took 2 hrs to get everything taken care of. They had to draw my blood work and his and do a 10-min HIV test on him in case I had been exposed. I didn't flip out or anything bec/ there is a medication that you can take w/in 24 hrs of being exposed to HIV to prevent it from forming into HIV. Does that make sense? Anyways, his results for Hepatitis and AIDS came back negative so luckily I'm in the clear. Needless to say, Tuesday was ROUGH!!!!
Lora Kate fell KABOOM off her bed last night before she was asleep fully and hit her head. It really scared me and her head was all red and swollen still this morning. I started looking at bedrails and the darn things are >$100.00!!!! CRAZY!! So I got on Ebay and ordered a set for less than that. Hopefully we can prevent more falls.
Jason and I leave tomorrow for Helen for the weekend. Looking forward to spending what looks to be a beautiful FINALLY Sunny weekend in Helen enjoying the outdoors! Have LOTS of pics with my new camera but haven't had time to download. Will post those soon!
