Was it REALLY 10 years ago?

Okay so was it really 10 years ago that I turned 21 and had my oh so very memorable experience of alcohol poisoning? I can't believe it's been 10 years...I really can't! I turned 21 and had a huge party planned at my downtown loft on the 9th floor in Athens for Saturday night. I went Friday night with a few friends and word is that I ended up drinking 18 shots, a Flaming Dr Pepper, endless Kahlua and 1/2 bottle of champagne. I remember sitting on the floor of 40 Watt (YUCK) and not being able to get up. The next morning I was STILL sick and my roommate had left for Spring Break. Her Dad was a Dr and when she called to check on me she put him on the phone with my sister and he told her to get me to the ER IMMEDIATELY. I was FORCED to go but ended up in ICU for like 3 days and the hospital for a week. I didn't drink for a full year after that experience. Hopefully my 31st will not be near as eventful and a little more lowkey! WOW!! Just had to share that story bec/ I recapped it with my ever-so-loving brother. He calls YESTERDAY and says, "So you ready to be an even older lady?" Then he calls today and says, "You know what's really crazy is that you are 1/2 way to 62?" I was like "Thanks John I love you too." He died laughing. Seriously though after he said that I told him, "You know what is even more scary is that I'm only 9 years from 40!" And in all seriousness that is quite alarming. I mean don't get me wrong....the last few years have been pretty hard but I've really found out a LOT about myself and fill very fulfilled with where I am. I've maintained a great career and fullfilled some career goals, extending my education and claiming more medical credentials that I'm pretty excited and proud about bec/ I've worked hard to get there. Nevertheless, 40....well 40 is just a scary number when I think about it as being only 9 years away...

Hi - happy belated birthday. Thanks for commenting on my blog - Lora Kate is a cutie!!

For the alphabet book - I have taken each picture, then put the pages together in photoshop. If you don't have photoshop and are intersted, you should look at the site picaboo.com - they may have some templates already done.
