Not enough TIME!

I love the time change!! I love it still being light outside when I get home and still having daytime to get things done and play with Lora Kate. However, it seems that since the time changed time has also run by me on a daily basis WAY too fast. Lora Kate started getting sick again last week. We went to the Dr on Monday after she ran a 103 fever all night. It's for certain that she has asthma. However, I was educated at my Drs appt...We all know that some babies have reflux. Lora Kate never had a problem with it. As my pediatrician said, "Babies have reflux and then they hit the toddler stage. We think it goes away and then we see it again in the 20s. So what happens betw/ toddler age and the 20s?" Apparently there is a possibility that LK has some underlying reflux issues that are causing her nasopharyngeal tract to stay inflamed and swollen. This is creating difficulty breathing, runny nose and coughing (i.e. croup again). Sooooo....LK is getting 4 breathing treatments/day and will be getting 1 breathing treatment/day for the next 8 wks. She is taking Prednisolone, Arithromycin, and Prevacid. Whew! It has been NONSTOP since the weekend. Not only is she a holy terror but she won't sleep. She's up all hours of the night since we started the breathing treatments. Tuesday night she was up at 1 and we were still up Wedn at 6:30 when my alarm went off. I called Mom Thurs night at 8:30 after the child had SCREAMED like I was killing her when I put her down for bed. I just said, "Mom I can't do it anymore. I need help. I don't know what else to do." So being the wonderful Mom I have she told me to bring LK to her house and she and Dad kept LK so I could sleep. I have not had more than 2-3 hrs sleep since Sunday night. I don't think I moved last night. I completely crashed. I don't know when this will end but hopefully soon. We cut back today to 3 treatments/day. Unfortunately it's supposed to rain ALL weekend here. I don't know WHAT I'm going to do with Lora Kate inside. I am working Saturday though and Mom is keeping her. Sunday is my first Chez Ami party and my host has a little boy Lora Kate's age (10 days younger) so hopefully they can play and she won't be too much of a bully. The breathing treatments have made her mean mean mean again. Biting, hiting, scratching, pinching, you name it. It's as if some foreign body takes over my child and I DO NOT like it. I was talking to some of the nurses yesterday in the hospital about it and they all have had the same experiences. I was glad to know it's not just Lora Kate and that it's common among children taking Albuterol. Luckily we will switch from Albuterol to Pulmicort next week and Pulmicort does not (supposedly) have the same TERRORISTIC side effects that Albuterol has. Whoever came up with Albuterol should be shot!!! We'll see how it goes as we move through the days and I TRY ever SO hard not to lose my patience!!! It's not her fault afterall...I just want her well! Today was her first day back to school so it shall be interesting to see if I have a note on her daily agenda report when I pick her up. It wouldn't surprise me in the least...
