Happy, Cute Kiddo!

Lora Kate is such an easier child since she has learned to express herself more openly and with actual words instead of whines and more whines. It's been so nice and so much fun! She is telling me what she wants (I wana eat, I want down, I done, Move, NO!, I want go outside, I want potty). It's SO much easier and SO much fun.
Saturday we had a birthday party in Good Hope. Lora Kate had a really good time and I got to see lots of friends I have not seen in forever, along with all of their kids. I couldn't believe all the friends that are pregnant again. More power to you to have em back to back but oh my goodness I can't even fathom it. If I ever decide to have another child (which I'm still not sold on that idea), I think I'll wait til LK is about 4 or 5. I want to enjoy all of these phases and give her my undivided attention while she's still so young and soaking up so much information. Mom had each of us 3 years apart and I think that was hard enough.
On Monday Megan started keeping Lora Kate at home. I had a Dr appt in Atlanta so I got home around 1. Lora Kate has started calling Megan "MiMi" and yells her name when she walks in the house in the mornings. Monday, since I got home early, we went to the Country Club to swim. We had so much fun!! Many of my SAHM friends and teacher friends were at the pool with their kids. I was so bummed to know I had to go to work on Tuesday. Now don't get me wrong...I'm not a SAHM kinda gal. I just couldn't do it. I love my work and I love my adult interaction. My work brings me satisfaction and self-worth in an area that I really enjoy. I also feel I really value my time with LK more. However, I think it would be AWESOME to be a teacher and have summers and holidays off. Not sure if that would outweigh the headache of being a teacher but I'd like to think it'd be worth it. My Mom, a teacher for 25+ years, says no esp since summers are so short now. Oh well....wishful thinking!
My sister is in the process of moving home from Atlanta. She's going to live at home for a while, save money and hopes to get a place in Atlanta. It's going to be so nice to have her in town and close by. I'm pretty excited about having her near us again!
I'm hating these gas prices that keep going up, up, up. I just don't understand it. These gas companies make profits in the billions when gas is at it's lowest. So why does it need to go up to $2.50+. It really angers me - esp when these greedy oil companies are giving million dollar bonuses and are paying top execs salaries in the millions while the rest of the economy has to budget just to fill up their gas tanks to get to work and back! EEERRRRRRR!!!!
The Crepe Myrtle Festival is a yearly festival in Monroe. It's Saturday this year and Jason and I are going to take Lora Kate. I didn't go last year but I went the year before when I was fat and prego with LK. I think she'll enjoy it. There will be lots of arts and crafts (i.e. children's clothing booths, hair bows, art, etc....all my weaknesses), animal rides, kids events, etc. Should be fun!
