Slam Bam...Quack Quack..What a Weekend!

It's been chaotic (but fun and happy times) over the past 3-4 days. Andrea kept Lora Kate Thursday night in Atlanta. Let's just say I think it made her think twice about wanting a child at this point. I think Lora Kate wore she and John Byrd (her boyfriend) out. They, too, wore Lora Kate out. I met them Friday evening at American Tavern to pick up Lora Kate and we came home and she slept for 13 hours straight w/o a peep. That hasn't happened in a while - not for that long at least.

Saturday Lora Kate and I got up and got dressed and went to see the Easter Bunny. She was less than thrilled. She would not get near him w/o screaming and starting to get really scared. So we just walked up and waved with me holding her and then got a coloring book. We then did a little shopping. We went and ate lunch at Chick-Fil-A with all the GA fans for G-day. It was crowded!! Lora Kate fell asleep on the way home and I took her inside and laid down with her. I too fell asleep to wake to my sister outside talking and making funny noises. So I go open the door and lo-and-behold my sister had brought Lora Kate a damn baby duck. YEAH!!!! A baby duck!! That's ALL I needed. So when Lora Kate woke up we took her outside and introduced her to the baby duck Andrea had named, "Goosy". Lora Kate screamed and ran from the duck and the duck started chasing her. The duck was precious, really she was. However, WHAT am I going to do with a duck? So I started calling around and luckily one of my girlfriends, April, decided to take the duck for her little boy, Ross. Ross told his Mom yesterday, "Mommy this is better than a baby sister." Isn't that sweet? He named the infamous duck "Puddles" which I thought was adorable. So little Puddles/Goosy has a good home and lots of water and land to play near!

Saturday night my brother brought his girlfriend, Liz, home for the first time. She's sweet, cute, adorable, pretty and just fun. We had a great time Saturday with her and are so glad we got to meet her.
Sunday was Easter bunny and church then lunch with the family at my aunt and uncle's. We had a wonderful weekend and the weather was great.

I leave on Thursday to head out to Montana to see Brian for about 4 days. I haven't seen him in about a year so I'm looking forward to it. We'll see what happens...Yes Mike and I are officially over for those reading that don't already know that.

Lora Kate went to the Dr this morning for her 18 month check up. She woke up with a 99.5 fever this morning and a wheezing cough. Oh no...not again. I know it's asthma and pollen though. She was pretty sick through the night. Her 18 month f/u stats:

Height - 34 inches (98th %tile)

Weight - 26 lbs (60th %tile)

Head Circumference - 19.5 inches (95th %tile)

We have to start Albuterol breathing treatments for 2 days and hopefully all this will be cleared up by the time I leave for MT. The words Albuterol just make me cringe bec/ I know that her alter ego will be coming out and it's just not fun and I think even she hates the way it makes her feel. Hopefully we've caught this and can nip it before it gets worse.
I will post pics from our Easter later...

HA! I think there's one in every family - an aunt or uncle who gets their neices and nephews every toy that drives their parents insane - i.e. pets, loud toys, toys that make messes, and toys that stain the furniture.
