Thanks to ALL of you who have been so supportive and encouraging during Lora Kate's illness. I've found myself getting a little stressed over the past week and my nerves getting quite frazzled. I really want to thank all of my family and Mike! I was thinking the other day about being a single mom and various issues that sometimes go through my head in regards to Lora Kate's well-being. I honestly can NOT imagine what it would be like, nor do I know WHAT I would do if I didn't have help from my wonderful Mom and Dad, sister and brother. Andrea sat with Lora Kate during the day while I worked on Tuesday. Thank you Dee Dee! I've never been so glad to work in a hospital because I could just pop in and say hey when needed. Along with their help Mike is just a lifesaver. He is so encouraging and is so good with Lora Kate. He never misses a beat. Mike does not have any children of his own but you would never ever guess that from watching he and Lora Kate together. He has been a huge encouragement to me when things get tough and I think I'm about to end up insane. So thank you friends and family!!!!
Lora Kate is doing much better. She is still coughing but we are doing breathing treatments every 6 hours and getting some steroids by mouth. Let's just say that these breathing treatments turn a normally sweet child into a mean, mean, little girl. Just plain MEAN. She pitches these fits and I stand above her watching and think, "What in the world? Where is Lora Kate and what creature took over her body?" Last night I just had to start laughing because otherwise I probably would have pulled all my hair out. She literally laid face down on the floor and started kicking her legs, all while SCREAMING. I mean this was a wretched scream that I had NEVER in my life heard come out of her. Tomorrow we get to go to doing breathing treatments every 8 hours. The weekend should be fuN! HA! She has not gone back to daycare yet but maybe tomorrow. I'm a little frightened to send her back though bec/ she is SO dang mean and I don't want her to bully the other kids.
Since last Friday when all of this began you could say that I haven't exactly gotten much sleep. And as many of you know, I love my sleep. So I have felt a little out of body over this past week. To top it all off I lost my cell phone last night. I searched my house up and down and even attempted to ask Lora Kate where it was. She has gotten good at hiding things but retrieving them for you if you question her. She threw up her hands (her latest move) as if to say, "I dunno." So my search continued. As I was rocking her to sleep I was retracing my steps and it dawned on me, "The washing machine." Yes I put my cell phone in the washing machine. See that's what you get for trying to be a good housekeeper and trying to keep up with the chores in a state of sheer exhaustion! Oh well, another one is on it's way and I hope to see it lying on my doorstep when I get home!
Again, Thank You all!!!! Love you much!
