It's been a while since I've blogged but I've been so busy. My entire kitchen cabinet is filled with food, food and more food. I'm thinking I'll do trays for all my neighbors and Lora Kate and I will go visit. Where I'll find the time between now and Wednesday I do not know. Regardless I love the hustle and bustle of this time of year. I'm so excited this week is Christmas week!!!
Now to play catch up. . .
I enjoyed a night out Friday night and Mom kept Lora Kate. April had an ornament swap at her house and we all had a blast. It was so much fun and I just love those girls. Afterwards we went to Ryan & Jennifer's freakin' mansion and I fell in love with their house. Anyways, I desperately needed it and it was so great to get out and enjoy my night.
Saturday Lora Kate and I went to The Avenues and we had such a fun mother/daughter outing. She was superb and just in such a great mood. I bought some last minute gifts and wrapped up my Christmas shopping. Of course I had to go into Gymboree and Carter's even though the child's closet is overflowing and she doesn't need a single thing. It's so fun to buy her clothes!! We got home and we played all night until she went to bed at 9 (that's late for her). She's in this stage of hitting and she only 'swatted' at me once. I put her in time out and it seems to hurt her feelings more than anything else. It miraculously works better than any other punishment so 'time out' it is. Hopefully this is just a phase and she'll outgrow it.
Sunday I had my "Mommy and Kids" Gathering. It was fun and so wonderful to get all the various ages of children together. It was especially great for Lora Kate to meet Braxton. He's a little older than LK and his mom, Kat, and I lived together in college, Along with Lara, who brought Ella. Stephanie also came by and she's due in May. All the college roomies becoming Mommy's!!! :-) We got a classic picture of the 3 children together and Lora Kate didn't like the idea. It's definitely one for the baby books!!! After everyone left, Lora Kate went to bed at 5pm and slept til 7 am. She was all tuckered out from the big weekend!
Lora Kate is going to have a massive Christmas. It's gotten a little out of hand. Since she will not remember it and doesn't really know that's it's any special day I decided in October that I'd just get a few things and let that be it. Well of course her Nani and Papa have gone all out and bought her Who-knows-what plus a Little Tykes Clubhouse SwingSet (that I must say I've very excited about)! Her father and his family really went overboard with buying gifts, clothes, shoes, etc. This doesn't even include what Mike, my sister, brother, her great g-mas and cousins have gotten for her. And as for me I've gotten her quite a few things. It seems everytime I go somewhere I find something else that she just 'must' have. Of course in all reality, she needs NOTHING but EVERYTHING she will have! It will be fun though and I'm looking forward to it. I'll probably have more fun than she does.
If I don't get the chance to blog before Christmas MERRY CHRISTMAS to you all and I hope you all have a wonderful holiday with your family!!!
