There hasn't been too much excitement to report lately. I guess there has in my personal life but I"m going to keep that private at this time. Just too much to even begin to express and try to explain...
Lora Kate is doing well! She LOVES markers and I'm having to be more careful with those everyday. She has written on my hardwood floors with a black Sharpie, as well as on my tile in my shower. I was freaked out at first but then I decided to try using a cotton ball with Biore toner on it and it worked!!! All marks came up w/o any problem! However, I have 2 pairs of pants that were in the dirty clothes basket that needed to go to the cleaners. I took them out yesterday and when I got in my car I was like, "NOOOOOO!!" They have red marker scribbles all over them. I have no idea when she did it but she did it. Hopefully it'll come out. For now the markers are placed very very high up! :-)
The boys, as I call them (but they are older than me), cut my grass yesterday and found a snake in my picket fence in the front yard. I think it was just a little black snake but to me, a snake is a snake. And I have a barefoot loving mongrul that loves running around in the grass outside w/o shoes. I'm going to have to keep my guard up I suppose and be very careful.
I am headed to a wedding with a friend of mine on Saturday in Toccoa. We are going to Vinings first to have lunch with his roommate and g/f and then we are all headed up to good ole Toccoa. This wedding is a bunch of people from the Cartersville area so I doubt I'll know too many people but it sounds like it's going to be pretty fun.
On Monday I have a very promising interview with Nipro Diabetes. It's for a position as a clinical manager promoting and selling insulin pumps to MDs in the state of Ga. I'm very very excited about this opportunity and I'm praying and hoping that it works out. I have been wanting to get involved in this type of work for years but it's hard to do so. I got my CDE license in December so that has opened up a lot of doors for me. I'm looking forward to Monday and seeing what may be in store...
I'm also applying to Ball State University in Indiana to go back to Nurse Practitioner school. I'll complete all my classes online and can complete my practicum hours locally. I wouldn't begin until sometime in 2010 but this is something I've wanted to do forever. Half the time I do a Drs work in the hospital and write the orders based on my recommendations and assessment of the patient; only the MD gets the bucks and I get my same ole salary. I know it's going to be hard with a child but I figure that if I'm going to do this I need to do it now, versus waiting until LK is older and involved in umpteen hundred activities a day. Mom and Dad are very supportive and have said they will help me with LK as I need. I won't need much help til the 2nd year when I start having to log all the practicum hours. As a part time student it would take about 3 years. I think of how LK is almost 2 and how FAST these 2 years have FLOWN by...so really what's 3 years compared to the rest of your life?
