On Wednesday night, July 1st, the 9 of us all went to eat at Blackwater Grille. Lora Kate was pretty well behaved but got sleepy towards the end of the meal (around 10 pm). Thats pretty late for her bec/ she usually goes to bed around 8 pm but it was vacation and she ate before we went AND ate off our plates. Mom, Dad, Andrea, JB, John, Liz, Jason and I all went for a few drinks after dinner at Ziggy's and left LK with a sitter from the King & Prince that several families we know have used. When we got back she had left this letter...

Lora Kate did not feel happy that you were gone - she refused the books and my holding her so she walked into Nani's room and she found her keys and tried to open the front door with them. :-) Toooo cute! She kept the cell phone close and kept putting it inside her shirt.
10:45 pm -- She continues to try and unlock the door with the keys as the cell phone keeps falling from under her shirt. Should you call on me again please leave me a camera - some sweet kodak moments!
10:50 pm -- I showed her my cell phone but she preferred the red one. I left her alone on the couch with some books and she began to read them. VERY independent little girl!
11:00 pm -- She walked back in 'her room' and let me put her up in the bed but did NOT want me in with her so 'as ordered' I left. Maybe now that she's 'checked out' the situation she will fall off to sleep.
11:05 pm -- I checked on her and she is cuddled into the pillow on her tummy with her little rear sticking up - soooo sooooo cute!!
11:07 pm -- I checked on her again and she is sitting up looking thru some books and has sneezed twice. I turned down the A.C.
11:10 pm -- Still sitting up with her books, keys and cell. I will 'try' to get the cell...or not. Nope - just as I thought - she screamed when I tried.
11:15 pm - At least she is now lying down and sucking on her lil fingers. Threw the books out of her bed.
11:20 pm - Keys and cell are tucked under her lil arm. She sleeps. Too soon to try and get them - don't want to wake her. Sooo sweet the way she wanted familiar items close by.
We got home not long after she went to bed and I'm keeping this note for her baby book. My daughter is a VERY VERY independant and strong willed child. I've been told that she definitely takes after the Malcom girl's. Hope that will turn into being a good thing! :-)
