I have slacked on my 'blog posting' since Christmas but it seems that 2009 has brought major thought provoking 'things' into my life. I can only hope that 2009 will also bring some answers! Lora Kate had a wonderful Christmas, as did I. She got more toys than she can possibly play with and she's still enjoying them all. Her Papa got her the infamous talking Elmo. On the way to work 2 days before Christmas I hear about the latest "Elmo" that is all the talk. The DJ's said, "If you don't already have yours then you probably won't find it." I'm thinking whew...glad LK's not to that age yet. Christmas Eve my Daddy gives her the exact Elmo that they were talking about on the radio. He had no idea it was so popular which made it all the better. This Elmo talks, laughs, sits on a little stool, screams, throws his arms up and crosses his legs...it's HILARIOUS. We kept turning him on all day everytime someone would stop by so they could enjoy Elmo too. I think the family got a bigger kick out of it than Lora Kate. Luckily though she's not scared of Elmo and so that's of no concern (because we thought it may be). Santa left a Little Tykes Swingset at Nonni and Papa's and that child LOVES that swingset. She SCREAMS when you get her out of the swingset...unless she falls asleep first. Apparently, according to Mom, I used to do the same thing. Only then they didn't have these safe swings so Mom would watch me out the window and have to run down to the swingset as I started to fall asleep so that I wouldn't fall out and break my neck! Andrea got LK the cutest outfit with the perfect shoes. I love the shoes and I wish Gymboree made an adult size bec/ I'd so have some!!!
I've posted some pictures from Christmas and some from the beginning of 2009. My baby is growing up. She's so active and so fun. She talks and babbles all night and day but half the time I have no idea what she's saying. However she seems to know just what she is saying and that makes it all the more hilarious.
It won't be long before she's talking so much that I can hardly think straight. We had a little playdate with one of my college friends and roommates, Lauren, on Friday. Lauren has a little girl, Maddy Grace, who is 19 months and she and Lora kate played great together. I think I laughed the entire time I was there but Lauren has that effect on people. The girl's were too cute though and we had fun. Maddy is ADORABLE and so tiny and petite. She's just precious! Not to mention smart as a whip! :-)
I was thinking today is the first week in like 3-4 weeks that I'm working a full 5 day 40 hr week. With the holidays and all I've had some time off. I woke up this morning with that on my mind, among other 'issues' that have over the weekend come up and left me quite well, at a loss. So as my thoughts and as decisions develop I'll keep you posted. Have a great first full week of 2009!
